Another second time around

Chuck has mentioned intresting musical tangents here before. Awhile back, Savage made a post regarding the new latest Gomez album, How We Operate. As it turns out, I started diggin' the disc a great deal. It just so happens that it is followed-up by a disc I stole from Bergeron years ago: Ego Opinion Art & Commerce.
As things turn out, I started listening to the Goo Goo Dolls' compilation disc numerous times. I loved it. Sure, not the best music that has been posted here. But good solid, light summer tunes none the less. I was never big into the band their first time around in the early 90's, and I don't listen to any radio, as I don't drive anywhere. So, for the most part the tunes were unfamiliar. The compilation gave me a chance to hear most of the good ones together as a solid unit. Good stuff.
I went out and picked up the rest of their albums. I tend to do that, get an album from a friend, spin it, and then buy more albums if neccessary. For me, in the end the music industry wins because I am inclined to pay for music I like. But that's just me.
So here's the two latest from the Goo Goo Dolls: Gutterflower & Let Love In. If you only have time for one, give Gutterflower a try. It might be a bit polished for the message, but that's their thang, right?
The wife an i are hitting their show at Northerly Island (old Meig's Field) on Thursday. Should be a good time and nice outdoor event.

Like I said, by far not the best stuff we've chewed the fat on. But, my musical nazism has gottne pretty lax as of late. With the dolls, it could be a combination of not having their material drilled into my brain twice an hour for six months at a time. There a certain affection for things you kinda just stumble upon. And, I find myself with an ability these days, to just kick back and let the tunes roll. Of course, a nice cold brew in either hand, or both, helps quite a bit.
Give Gutterflower a spin and report back - I'll bet it's better than you thought.
