mmmmmmm...

A site I've been getting lost in lately.

I was telling seed the other day..... I went to a beer tasting dinner near me a few weeks ago. 40$, 5 different beers paired with 5 different courses. It was an all Sam Adams tasting, which I normally don't do cartwheels for. It was pretty amazing how the foods paired with the different beers made beers I had written off taste better.

This same restaurant has over 30 beers on tap and is local to me. And not just any beers either. Good stuff like the heavenly Cain and Ebel Red Rye from Two Brothers Brewing. Also most of the Rogue line of beers.

For a long time I have been...lets say, very picky about my beers. A friend of mine drinks PBR 30 packs and it actually makes me angry. Why don't more people get that they can have their cake and eat it too with beer?

So lately I have been on a insane, crazy beer spending spree. Even more than before. Trying every artisan and specialty beer I can find. The other day I spent 30$ on just 10 beers. Granted 4 were 22 oz. bottles.

A few reviews are forthcoming, but for now......respect beer!

Man, now you've got me itching for some autumnal brews. I've mentioned the O'Fallon and Ichabod ales before.

This summer I started drinking Three FLoyd's: Alpha King and Robert the Bruce. Alpha King was alittle too bitter for me, not being an IPA guy myself.

And then there's Rogue. It maybe the fact that the first time I picked a Rogue beer it was a bomber-sized botlle with a fat waistline. I was immediately smitten. Now, the only one I will avoid is the Dead Guy Ale. Not for a a strong dislike, just that I usually reach alittle further for something I like a little more.

i've never been a fan of "octoberfest" style beers if thats what you meant. There's always some kind of pumpkin or cinamonn flavor. ick. Lately I can't drink anything but ales. Don't know what my problem is.

I do need to explore Belgian type ales and try some of the german fare that is not at the local grocer.

Well then, I would propose a tasting take place sometime on the near future. My challenge will be to find a cinnamon ale you can stomach and yours will be to find a bitter IPA that doesn't make my lip curl.

All are welcome, any that bring a Lienn(can't spell it)kugels's product will not br granted access.

Scratch some time out of your schedule. We can discuss the merits of the hoppy flavored beverege. And, we can get to that beef stock you've got a hankering for.
