Home Depot: Grill Finder

Gentlemen, your input is requested. This past weekend it has become clear to me that the time has come to part with college-era Coleman grill. It has served me well. I've swapped out burners, added a rotisserie. The elements have finally taken their toll on the wood shelves.

So with that, I plan on swapping it out for this season of grilling. Recommendations will be heard. In all honesty, I would rather not drop more than six bills on what amounts to an iron trunk with a flame and wheels. I've never found a good use for the side burners, and I don't have a family of twelve living with me. I want good even heat. I want to add the after market rotisserie. I smoke some and might be in the market for a traditional smoker soon.

Talk line is open.

I got this last summer.

Works great, nice construction, solid. 599$ at ace hardware. Nice cabinet for storage. Bought a cover for it. Prob cheaper this year. Came with stainless steel grates and flavor bars. (not all do so watch it)Looked into tons of grills last year. Don't fall for the other brands with new fangled features at the depot, lowes, sears. More features = less quality for more money.

My setup is lookin good now. Gas weber for everyday. Weber kettle for weekends, smoker for bbq. oh, and a bottle opener attached to the deck post.

Sorry, but I believe I've made my feelings about outdoor kitchens clear.

*sigh...

Well I cannot have the preferred charcoal at the condo. So, I figure if I am going to replace the unit I might as well get one with decent shelves. A man's got to have a place to rest his libations.

ok, lemme try this again.

I posted a long winded review of the gas burner I got,but the comment didn't make it in. Likely due to my stupidity or using and unsupported browser. (camino)

I bought the Weber Genesis E-310 last summer. Black color.
599$.
Solid no frills. 42,000 BTU, 3 burner.
Has a nice storage cabinet. Bought a cover to go with.
Mine came with stainless steel grates and bars. Some on this model do not, so keep an eye out.

Did extensive research. I would avoid any of those brands with the new features on them unless you plan to spend 1200$+. New features=less quality= more money.

Mine gets really hot, even heat.

It was the only one to get in my opinion.

Bought at an Ace hardware and they have been sending me 5-10$ gift cards a lot since then.

Pretty excited about my backyard collection now.

Weber Genesis E-310 for weekdays and large cooks.
Weber Kettle for weekends and indirect.
Masterbuilt Electric Smokehouse for set it and forget it smoking.
Weber smokey mountain cooker for a truer smoking experience.

That is one that I saw at my Ace for around the same price, more in the City. It has specked:
Porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates
Porcelain-enameled Flavorizer® bars

Is your different?

Yes. Mine has stainless grates and bars.
Most that I saw had the enameled. Was happy and surprised to find the stainless. I'm sure you could get them to swap some in for you.
