inklings markets

Posted by seed/Savage Henry @ 9:57 PM

It started out as a bet between riders. Since then, we have decided to include the free world. Here is a gathering list of the markets of our trivial notions and meaningless conjectures.

For the riders that are unfamiliar, Inkling Markets is a predictions market that is a trading mechanisms for options on future events, times, values, etc. You can buy shares of either Yes or No. The idea is that you'd buy the shares in the quantities that correspond to your conviction about the event. It's just like actual trading (you can buy shares of BOTH, if you want, to cover), with the added benefit of being able to read the price of the option as a percentage. The shares start out at $50, or even odds.

Opinions are sought, participation is a moral imperative. Those looking for a consolation prize, look no further.

Will Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) die before July 1, 2009?

Who will be named to replace Barak Obama as Senator from Illinois?

Who will serve in President Obama's Cabinet?

Which teams will make the NFL playoffs?
