We haven't had a new album up on the Jams for a little while. I just ran across something I picked up in a batch-purchase that fell off my radar for a few months. Bob Mould gets a fair amount of play here. His latest, Body of Sound, has been loaded to the Jams. I really haven’t listened to it. So, it’s a venture we can take together.
For those unfamiliar with Mould and his work I’ll give you a drive-by. Mould started out in Husker Du back in the punk days. Honestly, the majority of it is the most hair-raising material I can name off the top of my head. It has merit, in parts, and gave him a reputation for cranking the amps a bit at places like the Metro in Chicago. Since then, Mould did some other projects involving both solo work and small group ensembles. Pick up Workbook and Copper Blue for starters and then Beaster. It’s soem of Mould’s best work.
After a hiatus, Mould changed scenes a bit and created Modulate and Loudbomb. The former gets a luke-warm response. The later I give a strong nod in favor. Mould has always been able to explore new genres by injecting solid writing and composition. Even he says that he’s not taking the electronic sound into new territories, but it is something that he finds interesting.
I do too.
(Note: are you guys alright with the larger file sizes and web streaming? Re-converting and downsizing gets to be a pain in the ass.

I checked it out - I like. Thanks.
